Station Information

AFN Daegu is part of what makes Area IV and US Army Garrison Daegu "The best place to live, work, train, and play in Korea". AFN's total authorized audience numbers more than eleven thousand with a Korean "Shadow" audience of over 5 Million who live across the southern third of the peninsula. Our radio signal is heard in Daegu, Chinhae, Cheju-do, Pohang, and Camp Carroll on Eagle FM 88.5 and Thunder AM 1080 and 1512 AM. AFN Korea TV is seen in Daegu, Chinhae, and Waegwan. We are currently working with Signal to provide FM radio service to Pier 8 and the Busan Storage Facility in Busan.

AFN Daegu serves Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps personnel across the lower 10,000 square miles of S. Korea, from Daejon to Pusan to Cheju-do, including HQ, 19th Expeditionary Support Command; MSC-K; 16th MEDLOG Battalion; 36th Signal Bn.; 23rd Chemical Bn., USMC units in Daegu and Pohang; USAF at K2 Air Base; the USN at Pier 8 and Chinhae Naval Station; and many others.

AFN Daegu is AFN Korea's "Contingency Headquarters" having the ability to assume AFN Korea's mission if war should break out.  The team produces live newscasts from it's Daegu TV studio monthly and assumes control of network radio and TV during exercises.
